PrePosterously Easy!

Ever get the feeling that email has died?  When there was a water outage last week in my hometown, I found out about it through Facebook.  When my friend's son got sick I found out about it through Facebook.  When another friend's grandparent passed away, I got the news through SMS.  Seems like people have forgotten email in favor of these new mediums for social broadcasting.  Not that I find anything wrong with it.

For months now I've heard of Posterous and its revival of email as a communication medium with relevance.  After months of procrastinating, I finally took the plunge when Sun Mobile Broadband's service started to suck to h3ll and back.  I sent my first post via email to post@posterous.com and, indeed, the reply was so quick I was amazed.  They really are serious in keeping their word about the service.

It works best if you have multiple online accounts, which, I'm sure most of you all have.  After you've sent your first post and tweaked your profile settings... add up all your relevant accounts into your profile and the email addresses you want to be identified as your own... you're good to go.

You write whatever you feel like writing and attach pictures, music, videos and other files to your email and send it over to post@posterous.com.  Your post will automatically be forwarded to all the accounts you've set up through your account.  Though mine works a little differently, it's still like magic to me.

Go ahead.  Give it a go.  Find out how prePosterously easy to set it up.
